What I Read in January 2020

I didn't finish many books in January, although I'm in the middle of quite a few so hopefully my February list will be longer. One of my goals for 2020 is to read 100 books (which didn't seem crazy since I read 60 books last year with relative ease), but is now feeling a bit daunting. I'm not revising my goal, however; I still think it's doable, as long as I'm focused on getting it done. What have you read lately that you've enjoyed?

What I Read in Jan 2020

My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes That Saved My Life by Ruth Reichl (audio)
I'm sad that I'm running out of Ruth Reichl books to listen to. This one is about the year after Gourmet magazine folded and Reichl found herself out of a job. Unlike her other books, this one is full of recipes, and as always, she talks about food in an accessible but extremely knowledgeable and loving way.

And Now for Something Completely Different and The Steam Pump Jump by Jodi Taylor (Chronicles of St Mary's short stories)
I was excited to find two St. Mary's stories that were new to me, but I didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would. Maybe I'm a little burnt out on the series?

Veronica Mars: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas
I binge-watched Veronica Mars on Hulu in January, and discovered that creator Thomas wrote two novels between the movie and the revived series that fills in some blanks. I read this one, which I did enjoy, and started the second one. That one's going slowly for me and I don't think I'm going to finish.
