How is it already the end of October?! I'm torn between wanting the time to fly by so my kids come home for Thanksgiving break, and wanting the time to slow down so they don't keep growing up so fast. For example, if you're a homeowner in Los Angeles County, you might submit the FAFSA right after you pay your monthly bills and your property taxes. You can even pay your property taxes in full, instead of the two installments. This can be particularly valuable if you're on the threshold of qualifying for certain forms of aid, e.g., California's Middle Class Scholarship, which has a cut-off of $250,000 for income and assets.
