Works for Me: Saving takeout plasticware and condiment packets

As I've mentioned previously, we've been eating a lot more takeout than I would like. It's been getting better since my resolution to buy more convenience foods instead since they're more economical, but we still get fast food and takeout sometimes.

And when we do, I save the plasticware and condiment packets for brown bag lunches. The ketchup packets are particularly handy because little kids really like ketchup! I generally use at least a couple of these every week for the boys' school lunches.

Great ideas. I save the Arby's sauces especially... love'm when we do sandwiches at home too!

Us too. Only the doctor told my husband.....NO MORE DRIVE THRU meals!!!

Cholesterol too high....body too fat.....heart attack in the future.

So...we really are trying to cut it out.
Hard to do with TEENS living in your house. They crave it!

We save some of the plasticware for the kids lunches and for pretend play.

We don't do much take out, can't take the cost. I have been using the Crock-Pot more.

You can eat out/take out healthily--it's about avoiding the artificial fats and refined carbs. Think meats, salads, veggie side dishes, avoid breading and buns.

Never fails... I run out of ketchup on a french fry night and wind up digging through all the drawers looking for those tiny packets of take out ketchup!

@Suz - Yes! Marc loves the horsey sauce from Arby's so we always save those too.

@Wanda - Yikes! I hope you're all managing okay!

@CCS - Thanks for the tips.

@Totally Scrappy - LOL! That's happened to me, too.
