  • 7 Recalls Today

Yes, that’s seven recalls today. Click through to the CPSC press release if these look familiar:

    1. Ted & Lynn says:

Actually the problem with the Bumbo chair isn’t that it tips backward but that babies fall forward. The back actually offers them support. And this isn’t really a recall per se (as in taking something back to a store) but a request for parents to contact Bumbo for new warning stickers that emphasize the fall hazard and may be more obvious than the red print currently on the back of the Bumbo chair.

Our 3-month-old loves the Bumbo chair because she sits up “by herself”! But bad dad that I am, the very first time I used it on a countertop so she was close to my eye level. THEN I saw the warning label. It’s been floor level ever since — and I get down to HER eye level. She loves that just as much.

    2. kristinaQ says:

My son used to have the Bumbo seat as well, but luckily for us, we never had any problem with it.

    3. Chief Family Officer says:

Obviously you both like the seat (and Ted’s daughter apparently loves it!) and I’ve only heard great things about it, though I don’t have one myself. I’ve seen it up close though, and I can definitely see how a squirmy (resistant?) child could tip the chair over.

    4. Tiredbuthappy says:

I sent back a James train and got my replacement already, but I just realized we have another Thomas toy that was recalled–It’s an Old Slowcoach car. Unfortunately this is my son’s very favorite toy at the moment. He’s too old to suck on it, but I think I’ll still send it back in a week or so when he’s moved on to something else.
