SavingStar has been around for a couple of years now, and it keeps getting better. It’s an eCoupon site that lets you save money by attaching digital coupons to your store loyalty card, and the list of participating stores includes CVS, Ralphs/Kroger, Stater Bros., and many more.

SavingStar frequently has high-value offers, like these current ones:

• $5 back when you spend $30 on Charmin and Ivory products and Gillette men’s razors, shave gels, foams and creams, deodorants and body washes
• $5 back when you spend $30 on Bounty, Swiffer and Febreze products
• $5 back when you spend $25 on any Venus and Pantene products and Olay bars, body washes or in-shower body lotion

There are also frequent offers for items that coupons aren’t commonly available for, including 10% back when you buy any Elmer’s foam board and 3% back when you buy Elmer’s glue.

Once you purchase an item that qualifies for an offer loaded to your card, your SavingStar account will automatically be credited and you’ll receive an email when that happens. Some stores issue credits faster than others, and take anywhere from one week to one month (for locals, Ralphs is quite slow). You can cash out your SavingStar account by transferring the funds to Paypal or your bank account, donating to AmericanForests.org, or my favorite, via Amazon gift certificate.

One note about SavingStar and paper coupons: Their FAQ states that “SavingStar eCoupons will work whether or not you combine them with other services’ coupons, but they are not intended to be used this way,” and that “[u]sing coupons from other services in combination with a SavingStar “One or Many” deal is not a problem.”
