    Best Deals of the Week

I’ve compiled best deals available at the drugstores, Target, Ralphs/Kroger, and other stores. I stick to deals that don’t require too many or any obscure coupons, and I try to pick practical items that most people buy at some point.

Use this list to decide which stores to hit this week, based on what you need. You might even use it to decide you can skip shopping for a week, because you don’t need what’s on sale. 1. iPhone, iPad and iPod Gift Card Offers at Target

It’s rare for Apple to offer significant discounts, or let retailers mark down their products much. So this week’s Target Gift Card Deals on select Apple products are really fantastic:

    • $50 Target gift card WYB $499.99 iPad 16GB
    • $40 Target gift card WYB $329.99 iPad mini 16GB
    • $25 Target gift card WYB $149.99 iPhone 5 16GB
    • $20 Target gift card WYB $229 iPod Touch 5th Gen 16GB
    • $10 Target gift card WYB $99.99 Apple TV

I’ve never noticed before, but Target has a trade-in program for cell phones, and they’ll give you an extra $25 toward a new iPhone if you trade your old phone in. It looks like I could trade in my 4S for $149, get $25 toward a new phone, and get a $25 gift card … so, a $49 profit before taxes, with a new 2-year contract. Crazy!

    Ends 7/13.

    2. Back to School Deals at Staples

I’ll have a separate Back-to-School Deals roundup with details later, but this week at Staples, you can get erasers, index cards, pens, and copy paper for a penny each.

    6. Free Kinesiology Tape at Walgreens

Kinesiology tape is the sports tape you see athletes wear (I saw a lot of it during the Olympics last year, and there were some tennis players with it the last couple of weeks at Wimbledon). Apparently, there’s some disagreement among experts about whether the tape is really effective, but I’ve felt it helps a little with my plantar fasciitis. I’ve never seen it for free before, so this is a great deal:

    BUY: 1 Mueller Kinesiology Tape @ $6.99
    Pay: $6.99
    Receive: $6.99 Register Reward
    Net Price: Free after RR

    Ends 7/13.

    7. Free Always Liners at Target

    BUY: 1 Always Incredibly Thin Liners (20 ct) @ $0.94 {price may vary somewhat by store}
USE: $1/1 Always Pads or Pantiliners from 7/7 P&G insert
    Pay: $0

    Ends 7/31 {when the coupon expires}.

    8. B2G1 Crayola Products at Toys R Us

As part of their back to school deals, Toys R Us has a B2G1 sale on select Crayola products, including crayons, markers and paper. I can’t tell if the offer includes colored pencils, although I believe it has in the past. In many areas, the 24-pack of crayons is $0.99, so you can get 3 boxes for that price – which is a great deal. But the price at my store was higher last year.

    Ends 7/13.

    9. $2.99 Case of Water at Ralphs

Starting on Wednesday, Ralphs will have a 24-case of Ralphs water on sale for $1.99 + CRV. Any price under $2 for a case of bottled water is rare and fantastic. It’s a great time to stock up for summer, for emergencies, and for parties.

    Ends 7/16.

    10. Free Kellogg’s Cereal at Ralphs

Also starting at Ralphs on Wednesday, select Kellogg’s cereal will be on sale for $1.49 each when you buy 3 (Frosted Mini Wheats and Frosted Flakes pictured). Kellogg’s Family Rewards has a $1.50/1 Kellogg’s Cereal coupon for 1,000 points, and I’ve been able to print 2 coupons per reward. So if you have 2,000 points, you can print 3 coupons and get 3 boxes of cereal for free!
