  • Top Ten Best Deals This Week: 4/1/2013

    Best Deals of the Week
I’ve compiled best deals available at the drugstores, Target, Ralphs/Kroger, and other stores. I stick to deals that don’t require too many or any obscure coupons, and I try to pick practical items that most people buy at some point.

Use this list to decide which stores to hit this week, based on what you need. You might even use it to decide you can skip shopping for a week, because you don’t need what’s on sale.

    1. Moneymaker on Playtex Wipes at Rite Aid

There’s a new monthly deal on Playtex wipes at Rite Aid, and a new coupon that turns the deal into a moneymaker:

    Buy: 1 Playtex Fresh & Sexy Wipes 20 or 24-ct @ $7.49
Use: $5/1 Fresh + Sexy Wipes by Playtex
    Pay: $2.49
    Receive: $4 +UP reward
    Net Price: $1.51 moneymaker

The limit on this deal is 4, so you could do this deal up to 4 times if you can print enough coupons.

    Ends 4/27.

    2. Moneymaker on Clear Hair Care at CVS

The Coupon Center at CVS stores (aka the red scanner box near the front of the store) is giving a coupon for $4.99/1 Clear Hair Care this week, and the products are on sale for $4.99. So you can get a FREE bottle after coupon, but you can get an even better deal through Ibotta:

Buy: 1 Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Shampoo or Conditioner, or Clear Men Scalp Therapy Shampoo @ $4.99
Use: $4.99/1 Clear Hair Care CVS coupon from Coupon Center
    Pay: $0
Submit for: $1.25/1 Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Shampoo or Conditioner, or $1.25/1 Clear Men Scalp Therapy Shampoo Ibotta rebate
Net Price: $1.25 moneymaker after Ibotta credit

The Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy and Clear Men Scalp Therapy are separate Ibotta offers, so if the Coupon Center is producing the coupon each day this week (and not just once per card), then you buy one of each and submit for a total $2.50 moneymaker. Learn more about Ibotta here.

    Ends 4/6.

    3. FREE Soda at Walgreens

This week, Walgreens is offering another free drink:

    Buy: 1 TEN Soda 2-Liter @ $1
7-Up, A&W, Sunkist, Canada Dry or Dr. Pepper
Pay: $1 (+ CRV if applicable)
    Receive: $1 Register Reward
    Net Price: FREE

    Ends 4/6.

    4. FREE Duncan Hines Flavor Creations Packets at Target and Other Stores

I haven’t tried these products myself, but they are apparently a flavor packet that you mix into a plain can of frosting. I’ve read quite a few negative reviews (including this one from the Washington Post) – no one seems to have anything good to say about the plain base. However, the flavor packets are super cheap and often free so I keep thinking there’s got to be another way to use them – these Amazon reviews suggest using them as flavoring packets while baking, or adding them to a can of regular vanilla frosting or homemade buttercream. Let me know what you think!

    Buy: 1 Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Frosting Flavor Packet @ $0.85 {price may vary slightly by store}
Use: FREE Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Flavor Mix (up to $1) from 3/17 Smart Source or $1/1 Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Packet printable
    Pay: $0
    Net Price: FREE

If you can find the packets for $1 or less at other stores, you can get them free there as well.

Exp 6/30 (when the insert coupon expires).

    5. Cheap Altoids at CVS

The printable Altoids coupon is still available, and you can get a good deal at CVS this week:

    Buy: 2 Altoids Tins @ $2.29 each + B1G1 Free {price may vary slightly by store}
    Use: 2 x $0.50/1 Altoids Tin
    Pay: $1.29
    Net Price: $0.65 each

These make a great addition to care packages. (And the official CVS coupon policy allows you to use two coupons on a B1G1 sale.)

    Ends 4/6.

    6. FREE Alcohol Prep Swabs at CVS

You can get a printable CVS Coupon for FREE CVS brand Alcohol Prep Swabs (up to $2.59). Look for the offer on the bottom right of the page. The coupon doesn’t expire until 4/30, so you have some time to snag this deal.

You might have to be a member of the ExtraCare Advantage for Diabetes program to use this coupon. It’s free to join, and you don’t have to have diabetes.

Ends 4/30. (Via For the Mommas.)

    7. 5 Reams of Copy Paper for 1 cent at Staples

If there is a Staples store near you, you should never have to pay much for paper for your printable coupons! This week, you can get 5 reams of paper for just a penny after Staples Rewards:

    Buy: 1 Staples 8.5″ x 11″ Copy Paper 5-Ream Case @ $24.99
Use: $4.98/1 5-Ream Case Staples coupon
    Pay: $20.01
    Receive: $20 Staples Rewards
    Net Price: $0.01

There’s a limit of 2, so you could actually get 10 reams of paper for 2 cents. Learn more about Staples Rewards here.

    Ends 4/6.

    8. FREE Photo Paper at Staples

There’s also a Staples coupon for free-after-rebate photo paper:

    Buy: 1 Staples Photo Plus 4×6 Photo Paper (item #648177) @ $9.99
    Use: FREE-after-rebate Staples coupon
    Pay: $9.99
    Submit for: $9.99 Easy Rebate
    Net Price: FREE

The rebate form should print at the register after your receipt. If it doesn’t print, the cashier probably didn’t scan or enter the coupon correctly. Learn more about Staples Easy Rebates here.

    Ends 4/6.

    9. 40% off + Free Shipping at Easy Canvas Prints

Perfect for Mother’s Day, which is on May 12: Easy Canvas Prints is offering 40% off + Free Shipping on all photo canvas prints. If you have a great picture of the kids, canvas prints make a spectacular gift for grandparents.

    Ends 4/7.

    10. Double Points at Kellogg’s Family Rewards on Friday

On Friday, April 5, from 4-9 p.m. EDT (1-6 p.m. PDT), you can get double points on all codes entered at Kellogg’s Family rewards – similar promotions in the past have doubled free point codes, and you can find a list on the Hot Offers page. Since their rewards are “expensive” (1,000 points for a $1.50/1 coupon), double points offers are immensely helpful in building up your points balance.

Kellogg’s cereal will be on sale at Ralphs for $1.88 starting Wednesday (4/3), so if you have enough points for a $1.50/1 coupon, you’ll pay just $0.38.
