  • Top Eight Best Deals This Week: 4/29/2013

    Best Deals of the Week
I’ve compiled best deals available at the drugstores, Target, Ralphs/Kroger, and other stores. I stick to deals that don’t require too many or any obscure coupons, and I try to pick practical items that most people buy at some point.

Use this list to decide which stores to hit this week, based on what you need. You might even use it to decide you can skip shopping for a week, because you don’t need what’s on sale.

There are good deals this week, but I struggled to really find ten outstanding deals, so I’m leaving the #9 and #10 slots open. If you have a deal that should be included, let me know! Otherwise, if something comes up during the week, I’ll fill those in and let you know via Facebook and Morning Coffee.

    1. Cheap Comet at Target

Comet 2x Cleanser is on price cut for $1.09 at many, if not all, Target stores. There are also some great coupons that make them very cheap:

    Buy: 3 x Comet 2x Cleanser at $1.09 each
Use: B2G1 Free Comet 2x Cleanser Coupons.com Savings Club printable
And use: $0.50/1 Comet 2x Cleanser All You Exclusive printable
    Pay: $1.68
    Net Price: $0.56 each

If you’re not a Savings Club member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial here (be sure to cancel your account if you don’t want to pay for an extended membership).

    Ends 5/4.

    2. Free or Cheap Bounce Dryer Sheets at Target

We got new Tide/Downey/Bounce coupons in yesterday’s P&G insert, so you can still get free or cheap Bounce dryer sheets through May 11 if you were lucky enough to get the Target coupon earlier this month:

    Buy: 3 Bounce Dryer Sheets 34-ct @ $1.97 – $2.19 {regular price}
Use: $3/3 Tide, Downey or Bounce products from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30) or 4/28 P&G
Stack with: $3/3 Tide, Downey or Bounce produced Target coupon from 4/14 Smart Source (exp 5/11)
    Pay: $0 – $0.57
    Net Price: $0 – $0.19 each

Even at $0.19, that works out to 1/2 cent per sheet, which is a great deal since a more typical sale price is 2+ cents per sheet.

    Ends 5/11.

    3. Free or Cheap Oral Care at Target

There is an apparent misprint in this week’s Target ad. The ad offer is for a free $5 Target gift card “when you buy any oral care item listed” at $5.99. However, my store’s shelf tags stated the gift card was with the purchase of 3 participating items. Upon reading multiple blogs, forum posts, and even the Target Facebook wall, I’ve concluded that many, if not most or all, stores are honoring the ad as printed. It appears the computers have been programmed to prompt the gift card after one item is scanned – and if that’s the case, then you can get some amazing deals:

The items listed in the ad are:

    Crest 3D White Toothpaste 3-pack $5.99
    – $1/1 Crest Toothpaste 4oz+ from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30) or 4/28 P&G
->Free after coupon and $5 gift card

    Oral B Indicator Toothbrushes 3+1-count $5.99
    – $1 off 1 Oral-B 3D White/Pro-Health/Complete or 2 Indicator Toothbrushes from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30) or 4/28 P&G
-> $0.49 per pack WYB 2 after coupon and gift card

There are other items included in the sale that may prompt for a gift card after one item, including:

    Oral B 3D White Toothbrushes 4-pack
    – $1 off 1 Oral-B 3D White/Pro-Health/Complete or 2 Indicator Toothbrushes from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30) or 4/28 P&G
->Free after coupon and $5 gift card

    Crest 3D White Rinse
    – $1.50/1 Crest Rinse from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30)
->Better than free after coupon and $5 gift card

    Colgate Total 3-pack
    – $0.50/1 Colgate Toothpaste from 4/28 Smart Source
->$0.49 after coupon and $5 gift card

    Colgate Toothbrushes 4-pack
    – $0.50/1 Colgate Adult or Kids Manual Toothbrush from 4/28 Smart Source
->$0.49 after coupon and $5 gift card

    Colgate Optic White Toothpaste 2-pack
    $0.75/1 Colgate Optic White Toothpaste
    – $1/1 Colgate Optic White, Total Advanced, or Sensitive Pro Relief Toothpaste from 4/14 Smart Source
->$0.24 after coupon and $5 gift card

    Listerine Mouthwash
    $1/1 Listerine Mouthwash
->Free after coupon and $5 gift card

Crest 3D White products are eligible for the $15 WYB $50 of select P&G items mail-in rebate (must be purchased by 4/30).

    4. Free $2 ECB at CVS

The sad new is that CVS has ended the Green Bag Tag program that gave you a $1 ECB for every four times you scanned your tag and used your bags at checkout. The good news is that they are currently giving a free $2 ECB when you scan your card one last time as a “parting gift.” It’s been confirmed by multiple A Full Cup members.

    5. Cheap Puffs Tissue at CVS

While you’re at CVS getting your free $2 ECB and free Zyrtec (see #6), you may also want to pick up some Puffs tissue:

    Buy: 3 Puffs Tissues @ $0.99 each
    Use: $0.25/3 Puffs from 3/31 P&G (exp 4/30) or 4/28 P&G
    Pay: $2.72
    Net Price: $0.91 each

$0.91 isn’t a great price, but the nice thing is that Puff is included in the $15 WYB $50 of select P&G items mail-in rebate. So if you need a few more items to get to the $50 limit after shopping at Target, you can pick up some tissue. Just note that the rebate items must be purchased by tomorrow, 4/30.

    6. Free Zyrtec at Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid

All three major drugstores have the 5-count pack of Zyrtec on sale for $6 this week. Get it for FREE using the $6/1 Zyrtec 5-count coupon from the 4/28 Smart Source.

    7. Double Swag Bucks on Tuesday (4/30)

On Tuesday, Swagbucks is bringing back Double Stuffed Swagbucks, when you can earn double the Swag Bucks Shop & Earn, The Daily Poll, NOSO, Toolbar, Games/Play, and SBTV/Watch. The first Double Stuffed Swagbucks Day a couple of weeks ago was my highest earning day in a long time, so I’m very excited for tomorrow. If you’re new to Swagbucks, learn why I love earning free money from Swagbucks and how to get a bonus registration code.

    8. $1.99 or less Instant Video Rentals

Amazon has over 19,000 $1.99 or less Instant Video Rentals. There are a lot of kid-friendly videos, including Disney movies. Also included are the first seven Harry Potter movies, The Proposal, and Inception.

    1. Just saw this post about the green bag tag. At CVS yesterday they told me that they are going to be replacing it with another program soon.

      • Chief Family Officer says:

Ooh, a new program would be awesome … unless it’s one that makes us pay for bags, LOL!

    2. scrapper al says:

Just wanted to thank you for these posts. I don’t spend as much time viewing the ads as I used to so I find this weekly post very helpful and will sometimes add a store to my shopping trips to pick up the deal(s) you mention.
