I wrote my original review of Swagbucks.com way back in 2008! In the five years since, Swagbucks has become my absolute favorite way to earn free gift cards to Amazon and Starbucks. (They offer many more prize options, but those are my usuals.)
Some things about Swagbucks haven’t changed since I first joined. The fundamental concept remains the same: Earn Swag Bucks and redeem them for fabulous prizes. And just like back in 2008, Swagbucks is super easy to use as your default search engine. I’ve installed their toolbars and extensions in Firefox and Chrome, both of which I use every day. Your searches are periodically rewarded with Swag Bucks, and even if you did nothing else to earn Swag Bucks, you should be able to accumulate enough for a $5 Amazon gift certificate in a month.
But one thing that has changed is that there are many other ways to earn Swag Bucks now, and that means you can earn hundreds of dollars per month – it all depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put in. I’ve covered these other ways in the past, including my post from last summer on how to earn 200+ Swag Bucks per day, and an explanation of how I earned 1,000+ Swag Bucks in one day. The only thing that’s changed since then is my regular use of the Swagbucks iPhone app to earn 50 Swag Bucks each day watching SBTV Mobile.
One way of earning that’s relatively new is the Shop & Earn portal, which works like other shopping portals like Ebates and Mr. Rebates – but instead of getting cash back, you get Swag Bucks for every dollar you spend. Right now, you can get 3X the Swag Bucks for purchases at Walmart, or 6 Swag Bucks per dollar spent. Plus, Swagbucks is offering a hot rebate: Snag a $5 Walmart Gift Card in the Rewards Store and make an eligible purchase at Walmart via Shop & Earn by March 31, and get a rebate of 50 Swag Bucks. Walmart Gift Cards from the Rewards Store can be used to purchase items via Shop & Earn, and you will receive the 3X Swag Bucks back even if the Walmart purchase was paid with gift card(s). What a deal!
There’s never been a better time to join Swagbucks! New members get 70 additional bonus Swag Bucks when you join here and enter the code CFOBLOG70 – since all new users get 30 Swag Bucks upon sign up, you’ll start off with 100! That puts you well on your way to the 450 Swag Bucks you need to get a $5 Amazon gift certificate.
And that’s not all! (I don’t mean to sound like an infomercial, but I’m that excited about Swagbucks!) Swagbucks is giving one lucky CFO reader a $25 Amazon gift certificate – and if you don’t win this week, you’ll get another chance next week.
