That was a great article at Quizzle! One question, can you share some of the application names for the “better digital tools” that you have had or heard good experience about? That is my missing piece. Thank you!!!!

      • Chief Family Officer says:

Thanks! I didn’t mention specific tools because I’m sure what I use isn’t the “best,” but they’re cheap, I have them, and they work for me. Some Windows computers come with a program called Snipping Tool, which is a great way to take quick screen shots of confirmation pages and such. But you can only “snip” what’s on the screen. For full-page captures, I use the Firefox add-on Abductor. Both of these didn’t cost me a thing!

The other program I use, and which I’ve been using more and more, is called Snagit. I think I paid $50 for it a few years ago – there’s a newer version out now but I haven’t upgraded. I use it all the time because it can make PDFs – so I can print a page to Snagit, instead of my printer, and then save the image as a PDF. I’ve saved a ton of paper clutter thanks to having this program.

Hope that helps, and look for an upcoming post on tips for making the transition to paperless! (That will be here at CFO, not over at Quizzle.)

Wonderful! Thank you so much!!!! I currently only have CutePDF Writer which is a free PDF printer app for Windows and I didn’t know about Abductor so that will be something I definitely check out! Thank you! Look forward to the upcoming post on tips to making the transition.
