  • My P&G $10 ECB deal at CVS

This week, CVS is offering a $10 ECB when you purchase $30+ of selected P&G products. A lot of everyday items are included in the deal, but unless you use the higher-priced items like Olay, I find that these deals are only worth doing if you have multiples of the same coupon. For example, here’s the deal I did this week:

6 Dawn Hand Renewal Dish Soap at $0.88 each
18 Puffs Tissue at $0.88 each
    1 Bounty 6-pack at $5.77
1 Always Infinity Pads at $3.99

    Coupons used:
    6 x $0.50/1 Dawn Hand Renewal from 12/30/2012 P&G insert
    6 x $0.25/3 Puffs Tissue from 12/30/2012 P&G insert
    $0.25/1 Bounty from 12/30/2012 P&G insert
    $1/1 Always Infinity 12/30/2012 P&G insert

    Paid: $25.13 + tax
    Received: $10 ECB

I did have some ECBs to roll into this deal, but it’s still a lot more out of pocket that I usually like to pay. However, the bottom line is that the post-ECB price of these items are all stock-up prices:

    Dawn: $0.62 – $0.50/1 coupon = $0.12 each
    Puffs: $0.62 – $0.25/3 coupon = $0.54 each
    Bounty: $4.04 – $0.25/1 coupon = $3.79 = $0.63 per roll
    Always: $2.79 – $1/1 coupon = $1.79

The Bounty and Always prices are a little bit higher than I like to pay, but as I mentioned yesterday, I’ve raised my target price on paper towels (it used to be $0.50/roll, now anything under $0.70 is pretty darn good). And Always Infinity (unlike Stayfree) is extremely difficult to get cheap.

If you’re just starting out at CVS and have the $3/2 Aveeno printables that are no longer available, I highly recommend doing the Aveeno deal first, then rolling the Aveeno ECB into the P&G deal.

    1. How were you able to use 6 of the Dawn coupons in one transaction? The limit on P&G is 4 like coupons.

I did this over the course of two transactions, at two different stores, so as not to wipe either store’s stock, although they were both pretty well-stocked. 🙂
