21 Days to a More Disciplined Life

You probably already know Crystal Paine as the brainchild and voice of the mega-blog Money Saving Mom (and if you don’t, you should!). Crystal has a new e-book out today called 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life.

I haven’t had my review copy long enough to implement the steps for all 21 days. But I loved the intro – mostly because I see Crystal as this inspirational hard-working superwoman who accomplishes amazing things. And in the into, she admits that even she struggles with self-discipline and getting things done. I have to admit, it made me feel fabulous to know I’m not alone in that!

I’ve already taken to heart her recommendation to make one simple change and stick with it for a week. I do a good job cleaning the kitchen after dinner every night, but sometimes when I come downstairs in the morning, the dining table looks like a bomb exploded on it. So I’m now clearing the table every evening before I head upstairs – it gives me a nice mood boost when I come downstairs for breakfast.

In my experience – and as Crystal says as well – small changes like these can grow into big, wonderful things. One nice thing about her book is that she explains the big picture of developing self-discipline, but at the same time she assigns very specific tasks to help you cultivate self-discipline in manageable concrete ways.

Crystal uses the 21 days to help you complete a “big” project as well as develop discipline in smaller ways. I am still trying to figure what my “big” project will be, as nothing jumped out at me as I read the beginning of the book. But when I start, would anyone be interested in following along? I would post about my day’s tasks, and you could share yours in the comments.

    BUY IT!

Through Thursday, Crystal is offering her e-book at the rock-bottom price of $0.99. You can buy it here, or on Amazon for Kindle. If you don’t have a Kindle, you can use one of the free Kindle reading apps to read Kindle material on your computer, smartphone or tablet. After Thursday, the price goes up to $4.99. If you’ve struggled to get things done, then Crystal’s book is a bargain at 99 cents!

    WIN IT!

Crystal is generously offering 5 lucky CFO readers a free copy of her new e-book. The first 5 people to leave a comment will win. Good luck!
