  • Shopping Update 7/2/2012: CVS, Vons + Ivory Soap Report (Updated)

Monday is my shopping day, and I hit multiple stores this morning:

    Ivory Soap Report

As I mentioned this morning, there are reports out there that you can get FREE Ivory soap with the $1/1 coupon that was in yesterday’s P&G insert. However, prices in SoCal really are higher than other areas:

    Ivory Soap at Walgreens

As you can see, the 3-pack of Ivory soap is priced at $1.99 at my Walgreens – not $0.99, like some are finding elsewhere in the country.

Since there was that report that Ivory soap and body wash are $1 at Food 4 Less, I stopped by Ralphs on the off chance that it was on sale there as well. (F4L and Ralphs are both owned by Kroger.) Unfortunately, no such luck.

    Ivory Soap at Vons

The good news: It’s not free, but it’s a great price. At Vons, I found the 3-pack of Ivory soap on sale for $1.49 through 7/17. So, you’ll pay just $0.49 for 3 bars of soap, or 16 cents each.

Update: It looks like the Nivea deal is dead now.

I’m very happy to report that the Nivea tin deal worked out for me exactly as it’s been reported. They’re $0.99 each regular price and are producing a $2 ECB. There’s a limit of 4, so if you bought all 4 in one transaction, it would look like this:

BUY: 4 Nivea Creme tins @ $0.99 each
    PAY: $3.96 + tax
That’s a $4.04 moneymaker before taxes! Note that this is an unadvertised deal and so may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

Unfortunately, I did not get the free Cortaid coupon at the scanner – so that was either printing just yesterday, or it’s not printing for everyone (more likely – I very rarely get the good coupons unless they’re printing for all).

There are some good deals at Vons right now, but first I have to warn you that the Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut cereal does not appear to be producing the Catalina coupon anymore. Now that I’ve used up all of my $0.70/1 Crunchy Nut coupons, I’ll be calling the Catalina corporation to request my Catalina coupons by mail!

The good news is that there is a new Post Pebbles Cereal Catalina deal that’s valid through July 15:
Buy 3 Post Pebbles Cereals or Treats (6 oz or larger), Get $2 off your next shopping trip
    Buy 4, Get $3 off
    Buy 5, Get $4 off

Post Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles are on sale for $1.88 at Vons right now, so you can do the following:

BUY: 4 Post Pebbles Cereals @ $1.88 each
    USE: 2 x $1/2 Cocoa Pebbles printable or $1/2 Fruity Pebbles printable {no longer available}
    Pay: $5.52
    Receive: $3 Catalina
After Catalina, it works out to $0.63 per box, which is a phenomenal price for cereal these days.

Also at Vons, Dial liquid hand soap is on sale for $0.99 through 7/17. Use the coupon for $0.35/1 Dial Liquid Hand Soap from the 6/17 Red Plum to get a bottle for just $0.29 after doubled coupon.

    And that’s it! Happy shopping!

I live in Santa Clarita Valley, just north of LA, and the ivory bars were $.99 here! I got three packs free! Maybe they just weren’t marked correctly. Did you do a price check? At my store, the turkey bacon was tagged 2/$3 but it rang up $.99 like the ad said it was supposed to.

Thanks, Venessa – I will have to check again 🙂
