  • Phenomenal Photo Deal at Target

When both of my boys were in preschool together, I would have their photos taken together on picture day, and I loved it. No hassle for me, and I’d get lovely photos of my boys. But after my oldest started kindergarten two years ago, I’ve had to work a lot harder to get their photos taken.

The first time, I took the boys to Target, but was pretty unsatisfied with the results. Then I discovered a fabulous Picture People a few miles away, and my favorite portraits of my boys together have come from there. But they closed, and now the nearest location is an hour’s drive away. I actually hauled the boys out there for our holiday card photo last year, but was less than thrilled with the result. I don’t know if they were producing subpar photos because of the holiday rush (it was sheer madness while we were there), or if their photographers simply weren’t as skilled, but in any event, the photos are not worth the drive.

Since then, I have gotten individual portraits of the boys from school and baseball. But that was the last time I had the boys’ picture taken together. So when I saw Target’s printable Web coupon for a FREE 8×10 portrait, I decided to take the boys this week.

And it turns out to be a phenomenal deal – the first 8×10 is FREE with the coupon, and subsequent “sheets” are just $3.99 each. So I paid $7.98 + tax for three 8×10’s! I would have paid $50+ for the same quantity at Picture People. Admittedly, it’s not quite the same quality, but it’s certainly good enough. The biggest drawback is that while Picture People will print the photos for you on the spot, Target takes almost two weeks – you have to return for them. But for less than $9 for three prints, I can’t complain at all.

I don’t know how long the coupon will be available for, so be sure to grab it while you can!

    1. Just fyi, you can almost always get a coupon for the same rates (free 8×10 + $3.99 sheets) at JC Penney’s. We’ve had mixed results there, especially when my daughter was a baby. But by the time she was about 3 and old enough to follow directions from the photog, they’ve been great. And it’s hard to beat the price. 🙂

That’s good to know, thanks! Too bad there’s no JCP around here …
