  • Changes at Ralphs Effective April 1

As I’ve mentioned previously, Ralphs is making some big changes and they start today with the launch of their Real {Low Prices} @ Ralphs campaign. Basically, they’ve pledged lower prices on everyday items starting with the new sale cycle that starts today.

The flip side is that they’re eliminating double coupons (so all coupons are accepted at face value only), and eliminating the quarterly Rewards Certificates. Both eliminations are effective April 1, 2012. You’ll receive one last Rewards Certificate for the quarter ending March 31, either via mail or loaded directly to your Ralphs rewards card.

You’ll still need your Ralphs rewards card to get sale prices, and you’ll accumulate Fuel Points that can be redeemed at Ralphs Fuel Centers and participating Shell locations. It looks like you need 100 points, and get 10 cents off each gallon. The store locator will also show you Shell stations (click on the “Fuel Locations” tab in the results page). The Ralphs Community Contribution program will remain intact.

    My Thoughts:

Without double coupons, there will undoubtedly be fewer freebies and awesome deals at Ralphs. But, I am hoping that the new low prices will still make for good deals, especially with coupons with a face value of $1+. We’ll see when I post the new match ups later today. I expect to continue shopping at Ralphs, though perhaps less frequently, and may shop more at Vons/Pavilions, where they still double one like coupon per transaction (at least for now – fingers crossed that they won’t be changing their policy, although I’m not optimistic about that). You can find more shopping alternatives here.

In light of the changes at Ralphs, is there any topic you’d like me to discuss here at Chief Family Officer?

    1. Will you still be posting the Ralph’s deals of the week on your website?

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

Yes! As long as there are some good deals to be had, I’ll continue with the match ups ^_^
