You’ll find a list of this week’s Walgreens deals here.
If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, these new starter transactions will help you get your feet wet and show you how The Drugstore Game can save you money on things you already buy. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ (which has a handy explanation of acronyms), and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at Walgreens. In these transactions, I assume that you do not have any Register Rewards to start with.
Transaction #1:
BUY:
1 Colgate Optic White toothpaste @ $2.99
USE:
$1/1 Colgate Optic White Toothpaste Oct or Nov 2011 All You
Pay: $1.99 + tax
Receive: $1 RR
Transaction #2:
BUY:
1 Scunci Hair Clip @ $2.99
USE:
$2 RR from previous transaction
Pay: $0.99 + tax
Receive: $1 RR
Transaction #3:
BUY:
1 Colgate Total toothpaste @ $2.99
1 Royal Gelatin @ $0.20 with in-ad coupon
USE:
$1/1 Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste 11/13 Smart Source insert
in-ad coupon for gelatin
$1 RR from previous transaction
Pay: $1.19 + tax
Receive: $1 RR
At this point, you’ll have paid $4.17 + tax for 2 tubes of toothpaste, a hair clip, and a box of gelatin, and still have a $1 RR to roll next week or spend this week. That works out to a net cost of $3.17 + tax for all of these items, which you would easily pay for just one tube of toothpaste at other stores.
