  • Gelson’s: 11/9 – 12/6/11

Gelson’s is an upscale supermarket here in Los Angeles, and they’re not exactly known as a couponer’s haven – in fact, they may well get more celebrities than coupons. But the current ad, which I received in this week’s mail, has some good deals. And since Gelson’s does accept manufacturer’s coupons (but no doubles), I thought it might be worth highlighting the good deals. I’ve marked what I consider to be stock-up prices with an asterisk (*). It may not be the lowest price I’ve ever seen, but it’s low enough that I think it’s worth buying extra if it’s something you buy regularly. Keep an eye on your mail for a $3 or $5 off $25+ purchase coupon too – I seem to be getting them at least once a week.

    1. i was shock discovering gelson’s does not accept coupons anymore.i went there to shop and the cashier gave me a weird look when i tried to use coupons saying their new policy won’t accept accept manufacturers coupons. i will NEVER SHOP AT GELSONS ever again .every other stores accept coupons so i will shop somewhere else.

      • Chief Family Officer says:

Hmm. I’m looking at the latest circular and it still states they accept manufacturer’s coupons (of course, the Ralphs ad still states they double – but they pretty well publicized the change in their policy, and clearly just haven’t changed their weekly boilerplate). I’ve sent them an email and we’ll see if they respond. Thanks for the heads up!

      • Hi Freebie – we most certainly do accept coupons! Please let me know which store you visited, which day and approximate time, along with any information from your receipt (transaction, checker) so we can investigate what happened with your transaction. –Yvonne Manganaro, Director of Marketing, Gelson’s Markets
