I posted on Facebook yesterday that I’d gotten 6 bottles of Tide, 12 boxes of Puffs, 6 bottles of Dawn, and 12 rolls of Bounty for less than $6 out of pocket. I didn’t plan on posting the details since I used a lot of coupons and Extra Bucks, so it wasn’t the kind of deal that can easily be duplicated, especially by a beginning Drugstore Gamer. But Sue asked how I did it, and that made me think it might be useful to show how you to take your drugstore shopping to the next level. So here’s what I did:

I actually left with less “CVS money” than I walked in with, but I feel it was well spent – I got great prices on things we will definitely use, building up my stockpile so that I don’t have to buy these items at a higher price because we ran out (and I can easily share some of these items with anyone in need). Plus, I didn’t clear any shelves – my store was suprisingly well stocked (I’d only intended to do one transaction, but when I saw how much they had, I felt good about doing two – and the cashier didn’t mind). I also like having just the $10 gift card, because it means I don’t have to worry about any ECBs expiring on me.
