  • Rite Aid Starter Scenarios: 9/18 – 9/24/11

    You’ll find a list of this week’s Rite Aid deals here.

    If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, these new starter transactions will help you get your feet wet and show you how The Drugstore Game can save you money on things you already buy. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ (which has a handy explanation of acronyms), and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at Rite Aid.

    Be sure to sign up for a Wellness+ card – you’ll need it for the following deals (get it in store instead of online so they give you the card right away). You may also need to register for Rite Aid Video Values to get some of the coupons listed below.

    Transaction #1:
    2 x Crest Complete Toothpaste (4 oz.) @ $2.99

    2 x $2/1 Crest Complete Toothpaste, Scope Dual Blast Rinse, Oral-B Complete Floss, or Oral-B Complete Toothbrush 9/11 Smart Source {unfortunately, this was a regional coupon we didn’t get here in SoCal}

    Pay: $1.98 + tax
    Receive: 2 x $2 +UP reward

    Transaction #2:
    1 Prevacid 24 Hour (28 ct.) @ $19.99

    $4/1 Prevacid 24HR Product 9/18 Smart Source
    $4/1 Prevacid Product Aug. Video Values printable
    2 x $2 +UP rewards from previous transaction

    Pay: $9.99 + tax
    Receive: $3 SCR & $17.99 Mail-In-Rebate (found in 9/18 Smart Source)
    Note: You may want to purchase other items with the Prevacid so that you total is closer to the $17.99 mail-in-rebate amount sometimes manufacturers decline to reimburse the full rebate amount when the total is lower than the rebate amount. It’s also possible that the rebate amount will be reduced by the $4 coupon, according to Moms Need to Know.

    Your total out of pocket expense will be $11.97 + tax, but you should get back $3 via SCR and $17.99 via mail-in-rebate for a total profit of $9.02. That’s a higher out of pocket than usual, but it’s otherwise a lackluster week at Rite Aid (unless you need Huggies diapers).

    1. I actually got the crest complete coupon in my OC Register inserts but not in my LA Times inserts

        Interesting – it didn’t show at all in the regional database I looked at CouponMom. Thanks for letting us know!
