After writing about finding expired water at Rite Aid last week, I headed to CVS and bought water there. Since there was a manager right there, I asked about the expiration codes, and eventually we figured out that the first date I had thought was the expiration date was actually the born on date. So I owe an apology to Rite Aid – their water wasn’t expired after all (though in my defense, the Nestle Pure Life date code was extremely faint and difficult to read; the CVS manager and I had to check two other brands, whose codes were much clearer, to figure out what we were looking at). And it’s still good to know that it’s not illegal to sell expired food in California.
I had a nice surprise today when I found two extra General Mills coupon inserts in my newspaper. I don’t need them, so I’ll be giving them away in a 24-hour giveaway tomorrow afternoon – this is your heads up.
