  • Walgreens Starter Scenarios: 7/10 – 7/16/11

You’ll find a list of this week’s Walgreens deals here.

If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, these new starter transactions will help you get your feet wet and show you how The Drugstore Game can save you money on things you already buy. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ (which has a handy explanation of acronyms), and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at Walgreens. In these transactions, I assume that you do not have any Register Rewards to start with.

    Transaction #1:
    1 Hylands Teething Gel @ $5
    1 Clorox Clean-Up with Bleach @ $2.79

$1/1 Hylands Teething Gel printable (pdf)
    $1/1 Clorox Clean-Up printable

    Pay: $5.79 + tax
Receive: $5 RR for Hylands + $1 RR for Clorox

    Transaction #2:
1 GUM Dental Care 2 pack toothbrushes or floss @ $2
    1 Infusium 23 Hair Care @ $5.99
    1 Penway folder 2-pocket with prongs @ $0.13 with in-ad coupon

$1/1 Infusium 23 Hair Products 7/10/2011 SS or printable
    in-ad coupon for Penway folder
    $5 RR from previous transaction
    $1 RR from previous transaction

    Pay: $1.12 + tax
Receive: $2 RR for GUM + $4 RR for Infusium

    Transaction #3:
    2 General Mills cereals @ $2 each
2 Glad Cling Wrap @ $1.99 each with in-ad coupon
2 Corner Office Legal Pad or Index Cards @ $0.39 each with in ad coupon

    2 x $0.75/1 Cookie Crisp printable
$1/2 Glad Food Storage 5/22/2011 SS (exp 7/15)
    $2 RR from previous transaction
    $4 RR from previous transaction

    Pay: $0.26 + tax

Note that in the last transaction, I’m guessing that Cookie Crisp will be included in the sale and available at your store. If your store gets in new products quickly, you can buy the Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch and use the $0.75/1 printable. There’s also a $0.50/1 Honey Nut Cheerios printable, as well as a $1/2 selected General Mills cereals coupon in the 7/10 SS.

And in the end, you’ll pay $7.17 + tax for stuff most people use, including plastic wrap, toothbrushes or toothpaste, shampoo or conditioner, cereal and more. The only way to get so much stuff for so little money is to play The Drugstore Game. 🙂
