  • Rite Aid Starter Transactions: 7/24 – 7/30/11

You’ll find a list of this week’s Rite Aid deals here.

If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, these new starter transactions will help you get your feet wet and show you how The Drugstore Game can save you money on things you already buy. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ (which has a handy explanation of acronyms), and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at Rite Aid.

Be sure to sign up for a Wellness+ card – you’ll need it for the following deals (get it in store instead of online so they give you the card right away). You may also need to register for Rite Aid Video Values to get some of the coupons listed below.

It’s a really slow week at Rite Aid, so I’d actually recommend skipping it. Unless you need a toothbrush or breath strips – then you should do the following:

    Transaction #1:
    1 Reach Toothbrush @ $2.99

$1/1 Reach Toothbrush July 2011 All You
$1/1 Reach Toothbrushes August Video Values printable

    Pay: $0.99 + tax
    Receive: $1 +UP

    Transaction #2:
    1 Listerine Pocket Paks (72 ct.) @ $2.99

$0.50/1 Select Listerine or Plax Items 1/9/2011 or 4/17/2011 Smart Source
$1/1 Listerine (1L) or Listerine Pocket Packs (72 ct.) August Video Values printable
$1 +UP reward from previous transaction

    Pay: $0.49 + tax
    Receive: $1 +UP

    Transaction #3:
    3 Trident Gum (18 ct.) @ 3/$3

$2/3 Trident Gum Single Packs 7/24/2011 Smart Source
$1 +UP reward from previous transaction

    Pay: Tax

In total, you’ll pay $1.48 + tax for a toothbrush, breath strips, and gum. Any one of these transactions would cost more than that at any other store, so it’s an excellent deal if you need these things. If you don’t want the gum, skip the last transaction and hold onto your +UP reward for next week.
