  • Morning Coffee: Need to bake now

We’ve had cooler weather the last few days and in fact, it was cold at yesterday’s mid-afternoon Little League game. The wind didn’t help. But this weather won’t last for long, and Growing Up Gabel issued a good reminder that now is the time to get some baking done. When the temps hit 85+, I like to bake only once a week at the most, so now’s the time to stock the freezer.

Amazon’s Video Game Deal of the Day is Percy Jackson – The Lightning Thief for the Nintendo DS for just $9.99 (list price $29.99). If you have a Percy Jackson fan around, that would make a nice addition to an Easter basket. Disclosure: I’m an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

Amazon is also offering up to 30% off select video games for Easter, including Lego Harry Potter, Toy Story 3: The Video Game, and Zumba Fitness.

Buy any three eligible Disney Combo Packs and get $20 off at Amazon – the list includes the new Tron Legacy, Tangled, and the Toy Story movies.

If you live in a Walgreens test market, where you get points instead of Register Rewards, Wild for Wags has your deals.

If you’re local, I just got an email from LADWP announcing that their new electronic bill payment service lets you pay with a credit card without fees. Since we get cash back from our credit card, I like to charge as much as possible, so I’ll definitely be looking further into this.
