  • Morning Coffee: BRU/TRU Class Action Lawsuit

There’s a proposed settlement in a class action antitrust lawsuit against Babies R Us, Toys R Us, and various manufacturers. In a nutshell, if you bought a BabyBjörn baby carrier, a Britax car seat, Kids Line products, a Maclaren stroller, a Medela Pump In Style breast pump, or Peg Perego car seat, high chair or stroller during a specified period, you are part of the class and can file a claim to get a share of the settlement money. Some of the purchase periods are from 1999 to January 2011, so they span more than 10 years. We’ve bought at least five Britax seats from BRU since 2005 so I’ll definitely be filing a claim. Unfortunately, they are requiring documentation “to recover the maximum amount” – that seems rather unfair considering how long ago purchases will have been made. I don’t know that I have any documentation that show the purchase of any car seats other than the two that we still have. (Via Baby Cheapskate.)

Coupons.comThere are new coupons at Coupons.com again, including $2/1 Combat product, $0.55/1 Nestle NestEggs, and $3/1 Monistat product (and I’m sorry if you need that last one, but at least you don’t have to pay full price!). There are also reports of coupons for $1/4 Libby’s canned vegetables and a $1/1 Oscar Mayer hot dogs, but I don’t see either of them (they may have hit the print limit already, or just aren’t available in my area). 1. Looks like the lemonade coupon is now "$1 off" instead of free.

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

      Thanks for the update, Alan!
