  • CVS Starter Scenarios: 4/24 – 4/30/11

You’ll find a list of this week’s CVS deals here.

If you’re new to The Drugstore Game, these new starter transactions will help you get your feet wet and show you how The Drugstore Game can save you money on things you already buy. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ (which has a handy explanation of acronyms), and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at CVS.

Be sure to sign up for a free CVS Extra Care card – you’ll need it for the following deals (get it in store instead of online so they give you the card right away).

It’s another slow week at CVS, but you can still get a couple of good deals on things you might need:

    Transaction #1:
Buy 1 Blink Tears 0.5 oz or Gel Tears 0.34 oz – $7.99
Use $1/1 Blink Tears or Blink GelTears Lubricating Eye Drops 04/03/11 SS

    Pay: $6.99 + tax
    Receive: $7.99 ECB

    Transaction #2:
    Buy 1 Kettle Chips, 8-9 oz – $2.50
    And 1 Dove Men + Care Antiperspirant or Deodorant, 2.7 – 3 oz – $0.99
    And 2 Schick Hydro Razor System, 1 ct – B1G1 @ $8.99 each
    And 3 Kellogg’s Pop Tarts, 8 ct – $1.79 each

Use $1/1 Kettle Brand Potato Chips 03/20/11 RP
And use $1/1 Dove Men+ Care Antiperspirant/Deodorant 03/27/11 RP (may beep and need to be adjusted to $0.99)
    And use 2 x $3/1 Schick Hydro 3 or 5 printable
And use $1/3 Kellogg’s PopTart Pastries or Mini Crisps 03/06/11 RP
And use $7.99 ECB from previous transaction

    Pay: $0.86 + tax

In sum, pay $7.85 + tax, and get eye drops, potato chips, deodorant, two razors, and three boxes of Pop Tarts. You’d pay that for just one full-price razor at Target! Plus, the second transaction is easily adjusted so you can eliminate whatever you don’t want and buy something you do want. Check the weekly circular to see what’s on sale.
