  • Late Morning Coffee: Power’s back, internet’s not

I had to get myself over to a coffee shop for the free wi-fi this morning, because we have no internet at home right now. We were without power last night for over nine hours (it rained hard all day), and it turned out to be a great time to check our emergency supplies. We’ve got an updated list of things we want to add to our kit, and if anyone has a recommendation for a camping stove, I’d love to hear it!

So for this abbreviated version of Morning Coffee, here goes:

RedplumThere are some new coupons at RedPlum, including $1/1 Endust product, $0.50/1 Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce, Salsa, Lemonade, Marinade or Popcorn, and $0.75/1 Sara Lee pre-sliced meat. Links via Logical Media.

Get a free sample of Dove Men+Care deodorant and body wash from Walmart.

Get a free rental at Blockbuster Express today only with code MONDAY.

Target has some new printable coupons, including $1/1 Circo product. I was pretty happy with the Circo baby products, since it’s not like I needed them to last long anyway. Their crib sheets have elastic all the way around, which was a huge plus for me. You can also reportedly use the coupon to get free baby socks!

Get a printable coupon for $1/2 Starbucks ice cream.

Stretching a Buck has this week’s Target deals.

I may or may not be back later today – hopefully we’ll have internet access at home by this afternoon! Not only have I not prepared my menu for the week, I’m not sure if I should plan on cooking since I feel like the power might go out at any moment. Maybe tonight’s the night to have a nice take-out dinner 🙂

    1. I haven't gotten one of these yet but I read a lengthy article about the use of fuel efficient stoves in Africa and this one was very positively rated. http://www.stovetec.net/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2

Hope you get power back soon! Glad it's not also cold where you are.

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

@Alicia – Thank you, I've never seen that stove before! It's good to be back online, and it's actually kind of cold, at least for LA. Though that's nothing like COLD in other parts of the country, of course 🙂
