  • Dorel Juvenile Group Car Seat Recall: Alpha Omega, AO Elite, Enspira, Priori, Prospect, Vantage, Mico & Onboard included

There’s a new car seat recall from Dorel Juvenile Group, which makes Safety 1st, Cosco, Maxi Cosi, and Eddie Bauer products. The recall affects nearly 800,000 infant, convertible, and booster child restraint systems that were sold both as stand alone seats or as part of a travel system, and manufactured between May 1, 2008 and April 30, 2009. The problem is that the harness locking and release button does not always return to the locked position, so the harness can loosen while the child is strapped in.

Car seats included in the recall are the Alpha Omega, Alpha Omega Elite, Enspira, Priori, Prospect, Vantage, Mico and Onboard. Registered owners will receive a free remedy kit. Non-registered owners should call 1-866-623-3139 email, with the entire model number.

You can read the NHTSA notice here and DJG’s press release here (includes instructional video for the remedy kit). Both sites list the model numbers of the seats included in the recall.
