It’s the last week of school before winter vacation, and as room parent, I am responsible for the class gift to the teacher, who has been just fantastic. I was informed that she really likes special presentations of her gift, and since no one offered any suggestions, I had to go with the only idea I came up with on my own – a Money Lei. I picked up the crisp bills yesterday and have started folding, but since I only have a couple more days to finish, in between trying to recover from this cold, I’ll have to spend most of my time making this lei. So here’s a quick roundup of deals, and then I’ll get to the Ralphs match ups and lei-making:

I’ve been really happy with Groupon so far, as I’ve been able to save quite a bit of money with their daily discounted deals (learn more about Groupon here). This week alone, I’ve redeemed three Groupons for gifts for a savings of over $70. Right now, in Washington D.C.’s Holiday Store, you can get a $50 Mrs. Fields voucher for just $25. It can only be redeemed online, but they are offering free shipping right now. Since this is an online deal, it can be purchased by anyone regardless of location – just click on the city name at the top of the page to change the location. You can also get a $10 credit when someone signs up using your referral link and makes their first purchase (thank you if you join(ed) Groupon using my referral link!). Don’t forget to shop through Ebates to get back 3% of your purchase.
There are new coupons at Cellfire.com, which you can load onto your store loyalty card for automatic savings at checkout (though they may not “stack” with paper coupons, depending on your store). Links via MySavings.com.
