Thanks to my darling husband, I had time to do some baking last night. I made: cinnamon raisin bread (using the challah recipe from the Artisan Bread in Fivebook), milk bread (though I totally spaced and used all bread flour instead of subbing in some white whole wheat), cereal bars (note to self: do not use grape juice in future, even if it’s the only juice around, b/c it will turn the bars green), chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, and chocolate & zucchini cake (saved most of the shredded zucchini for tonight). All of these items will go into our freezer and make life easier for a couple of weeks.
Moms Need to Know explains how you can get free food at California Tortilla every Tuesday this month. (Ironically, “California” Tortilla seems to be exclusively on the east coast, which explains why I’ve never heard of them before.)
