The whooping cough epidemic has infected over 6,000 people in California, and killed some babies. Public health officials recommend that adolescents (ages 11 through 18) who got the routine vaccine as a child get a booster dose, and that adults get a booster if they haven’t had one in the last 10 years. I just went to my doctor’s office for a flu shot, and got a pertussis booster while I was there. The LA Times has some suggestions on where to get vaccinated, regardless of whether you have insurance.

Get a printable coupon for $8/1 Toy Story 3 Blu Ray/DVD Combo. The coupon expires 11/8 – the DVD comes out on Tuesday, 11/2. You might want to print the coupon now in case it hits the print limit before the deals come out (probably not until the weekend). I normally don’t buy movies right when they come out on DVD, but the boys all saw this one without me and I really want to see it. Oh, and of course, they’ll enjoy seeing it again too.
Tomorrow only, Whole Foods has Organic Honeycrisp Apples on sale for $1.49/lb. That’s a great price for a tasty apple.
