  • The Drugstore Game This Week: Starter CVS Transactions 10/17 – 10/23/10

    FacebookTwitterPinterest

If you’re new to playing The Drugstore Game, these transactions should help you get started. If you don’t understand the transactions, read my Drugstore Game Primer, Common Sense with Money’s FAQ, and my explanation of How to Play The Drugstore Game at CVS.

You’ll find a list of this week’s CVS deals here. In these transactions, I assume that you do not have any ECBs to start with. It’s a pretty slow week at CVS, which in a way makes it easy to get started.

    Transaction #1:
    1 Schick Hydro 3 or 5 – $8.99

    – $4/1 Schick Hydro 5 or $4/1 Schick Hydro 3 from 10/3 SS

    Pay: $3.99 + tax
    Receive: $5 ECB

    Transaction #2:
Note: This is a monthly deal, with a limit of 5. It’s a great way to roll your ECBs and make a little money.

    1 Azo Itch Relief $6.99
    1 filler, e.g., Voortman cookies 88 cents

    – $2/1 Azo Itch Relief Maximum Strength printable (pdf)
    – $5 ECB from previous transaction

    Pay: 87 cents + tax
    Receive: $6.99 $5 ECB

    Comments

    1. So, I bought the Azo itch relief wipes today and it only printed $5. Do you think that is just because I bought the wipes? I am going to try it again with the cream.

However, I got the $5 ECB, the $5 for schick, PLUS a $5/$15 coupon, so I can't complain. I can't remember ever receiving a $5/15 before! I love how generous the coupon scanner has been lately.

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

@Rebecca – It looks like the deal is now for $5 ECB, maybe it always was and initial reports were wrong. (I haven't done it yet myself.) Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix the post!

    3. Ok, good to know. I bought 3 today and got $15 back. It was the perfect way to combine my $10 ECB with the $5/$15 which expires tomorrow into ECB that don't expire until next month!
