Things at work have gotten a little crazy, so I’m going to skip this week’s Drugstore Game starter deals. Hopefully the CVS and Rite Aid scenarios will give you ideas for your own deals this week, and if anyone wants to post any ideas in the comments, that would be fabulous. There are some decent deals at Walgreens this week, too, but I’m going to skip it this week because of a lack of time. Again, I emphasize the importance of maintaining your sanity over snagging every deal – 99% of the time, the deals come around again in a few weeks.

Update: It’s not a download, but you can read it for free online. Get a free download of Stephenie Meyer’s new novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, starting at noon today. You can also buy the hardcover versionat Amazon for $7.54. If you don’t recognize/remember the name, she’s the newborn vampire in Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight series.Apparently, the director of the movie adaptation of Eclipse used the novella as a reference during filming. And speaking of the Twilight movies, I just watched most of the first one yesterday and found myself laughing at much of it. It doesn’t compare to the book, and I’m not usually one to disparage a movie adaptation just because (I genuinely enjoy watching the Harry Potter movies). Disclosure: I’m an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

Slashfood has some tips on avoiding Bisphenol-A (BPA), which is prevalent in canned goods and has caused some major health concerns. We don’t use a lot of canned goods, but I haven’t been able to completely eliminate them, so I was pleased to see that my primary source – Trader Joe’s – carries some BPA-free canned products that I already buy. It’s tough to balance cost versus health concerns, but I think I’ll stick with their more expensive beans and tuna now that I know they’re BPA-free. (Hat tip: Cheap Healthy Good.)

    1. the movie was so bad. and despite that fact i went and saw the second one anyway and it was bad but not as bad. and i'm already planning to see the third one even though i know it's gonna be bad too

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

@Carrie – I heard the second one is much better, and the wolves are actually supposed to be scary in the third. :)
