The CPSC issued a bunch more recalls for drop side cribs on Thursday. I’ll have a full post about those later this weekend, but in the meantime, if you’re in the market for a crib, avoid the drop-sides since there’s too good a chance it’ll end up being recalled later. And I say that reluctantly, because I’m short and I loved our drop-side crib – it was on the expensive side, but well-made and very quiet except for the click to let you know the side had locked in place. (On the other hand, the drop-side on our cheap Jardine crib, which was eventually recalled, was noisy whenever it was moved.) There were also a couple of other recalls on Thursday, and I’ll have those for you later too.
Yesterday, Kellogg’s recalled selected packages of Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks cereals because the packaging is producing an odor and taste that’s making people sick. Click through to Kellogg’s Consumer Alert site for info on which packages are included in the recall.
Also yesterday, P&G recalled some bottles of Scope because the cap is not child-proof. There’s nothing wrong with the product inside, but they failed to note on the bottle that it is not for households with young children. Consumers can discard the affected bottle and contact P&G at 1-877-340-8825 for a coupon or refund. Consumers who wish to continue to use the product should do so as directed, taking extra care to keep it out of the reach of children.
