  • Morning Coffee: AAP says it’s okay to teach your preschooler how to swim

The American Academy of Pediatrics had previously recommended against swim classes for kids under age 4, but now they are “more open” toward such classes. They continue to emphasize commonsense steps to prevent drowning, like having a fence around all pools, covering drains appropriately, making sure an adult is keeping an eye on kids, etc. Here in Southern California where every other house has a pool, most of my friends have put their children in swim classes before age 4 – it just seems to be the norm here.

Amazon is now offering free returns on selected clothing, which seems like a good move to me – if you get it and it doesn’t fit the way you’d hoped, you’re not out any money. Click here, and then on the “Introducing Free Returns” banner on the right for details. Disclosure: I’m an Amazon affiliate, so any purchase you make after entering Amazon through a link on Chief Family Officer supports this site at no additional cost to you. Thank you!

I’ve got to write up a post about Rite Aid; it’s on my to do list so I can discuss the new(ish) Wellness+ program and more. But in the meantime, here’s a printable coupon (pdf) for $1/1 any Rite Aid brand pain reliever – the link was in an email encouraging me to buy their store brand to replace all of the name brand Tylenol and Motrin I just had to toss because of the latest recall.

Their PR person also emailed me last week because he wanted to let everyone know that Rite Aid’s new store brand diaper, Tugaboos, is on shelves and there’s a $1 off Tugaboos coupon in the trial-size package, which retails for 99 cents. The new baby care line is part of Rite Aid’s plan to revamp its entire private brand program, and will eventually include creams, lotions and wipes.

Common Sense with Money has an update on the Rite Aid moneymaker Olay scenarios she posted – it’s now a $26 moneymaker!

Final Rite Aid update: May Video Values videos will close at 12 am EDT on May 29. I just spent about 20 minutes watching videos and reading a book, so I’ll have this month’s coupons available to print next month in case a hot deal comes up.

VocalPoint members can request a sample of Crystal Light Pure Fitness. I love getting samples from VocalPoint because they usually come with high value coupons.

Freebies 4 Mom explains how you can get a 20-page photo book for $3.50 and free shipping on Thursday and Friday.

Tomorrow, starting at 5 a.m. CST, the first 50,000 Tropicana Juicy Rewards members can redeem 5 points for a coupon for a free carton of Tropicana Pure Premium.
