Nature’s Own sent me some of their new Thin-Sliced Bagels and Sandwich Rounds to try, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed them. The bagels come in 100% whole-wheat and original flavors, both of which were a hit. I served some at a morning playdate that I hosted, and they were quickly gobbled up. I particularly liked the texture when lightly toasted – the bagel was pleasantly crisp on the outside, and soft and just the right amount of chewy on the inside. Plus, the small size of the bagel made it perfectly kid-sized.
The sandwich rounds come in 100% whole wheat and multi-grain varieties, both of which have 5 grams of fiber and 100 calories per serving. They were perfect for open-faced tuna melts and sardine-avocado sandwiches. I did prefer the whole wheat version to the multi-grain variety, mostly because I’m not a big fan of things stuck to my bread (even if they’re healthy things like seeds). The fact that both products are pre-sliced makes them very convenient, and both held up pretty well in the freezer.
