  • Morning Coffee: Request for Your Help

There’ll be no Ways to Make & Save Money post this week – I have been feeling so overwhelmed that I briefly contemplated not blogging anymore on the way home from work yesterday. Of course, that would be foolish – I love blogging, and I don’t think I could stop even if I tried! However, I was thinking of not doing the Morning Coffee roundups anymore, or maybe making them much shorter – just a few highlights, and maybe not every day. But I want to know what you like. Would you miss the Coffee posts? And if so, what exactly would you miss? Is it the links to store deals, ad previews, coupon links, freebies, etc.? The more specific you are, the more I can tailor this site to serve you, so thanks so much for reading and for helping to make things better. You can email me, leave a comment, or be totally anonymous using this form.

Take a reusable travel mug to Starbucks today Thursday (4/15) and get a free brewed coffee. Details here.

Get a preview of the 4/16 Shaw’s ad.

Get a printable coupon for Buy One, Get One Free Jamba Juice (expires 4/25).

There are new Kellogg’s coupons at the Kellogg’s web site as well as Red Plum (link via Logical Media).

Purchase $50 of Olay Facial Moisturizers, Facial Treatments and/or Facial Cleansers and get a $20 rebate (pdf). Purchases must be made by May 9, and the form must be postmarked by May 21.

Get a sneak peek at the 4/16 ACME ad.

Get a free 20-song iTunes country sampler from People.

Get a free music and video CD, plus a coupon for $1/1 Kandoo from Pampers. It says video CD, not DVD – anyone know what the distinction is? (Via A Thrifty Mom.)

Facebook fans of Philosophy get a free sample of their Anti-Aging Moisturizer.

There was a $5/2 various cold and allergy medications coupon in yesterday’s Red Plum insert. You may be able to use it to snag free Benadryl Itch Sticks for free or cheap at Target or Walmart.

    1. I really like the links to store deals/coupons/good grocery finds, etc. Honestly, your morning coffee post is becoming one of my favorite morning reads. I like that it is simple and to the point, and I like knowing the deals you are finding.

However, I have no idea how you balance being a mother, wife, lawyer, AND a blogger. So I would understand if they have to go :)

I can't edit the post right now, but I wanted to give a heads up on the error in the post – the free coffee at Starbucks is on Thursday (Tax Day), NOT today. Sorry!

    3. I love the roundup. You come across as concise, intelligent.

Savings blogs seem to be oriented towards stay at home moms. Your appeal to me is that you do both.

I understand the demands of working and maintaining a blog.

Ultimately, you have to stay sane, but I would miss your morning coffee A Lot

    4. Little-Bit says:

I would TOTALLY miss the Morning/Afternoon/Evening coffee posts! They are the highlight of opening my browser in the morning. But, I would understand if it was getting overwhelming and needed to be scaled down. Ultimately, it is your choice and your sanity, right? :)

    5. I like the coffee posts, too. If forced to choose, I would give up some of the drugstore game posts. MY favorite posts, though, are the more general ones discussing budgeting, saving and learning how to live on less money.

    6. Kimberly says:

I'd miss them! I like that they're different things, all quick to browse and in one post. I also like that it's kind of a surprise what I'll find.

If you needed to do them less often, it would be better than not doing them at all for sure!

    7. Amy Rainey says:

I personally glean a lot of great info from your morning coffee post. But, your sanity is much more important than my "need to know" :) You could condense it all into one coffee break post, instead of two or three times a day. I think the coffee posts are on of the things that make your blog unique. I agree with "ras", if forced to choose, I would rather lose some of the drugstore game posts, but those aren't daily and the coffee posts are, so that might not actually help you out very much.

Do what is best for you and your family!

    8. Stephanie Carnes says:

I love the coffee posts, but my favorite thing you write about is your general philosophy of money management and how you make things work for your family. Thanks for a great blog!

    9. I found your blog because of the Ralph's match-ups, and I still fin them vital. But, I really enjoy the "philosophy of money" posts. Good luck finding a balance.

    10. Anonymous says:

I love the "coffee" posts! I look forward to reading them each day. However, as mentioned by other readers, my favorite posts are you original content posts. You have a unique perspective. Thanks for your hard work.

    11. Chief Family Officer says:

Thanks, everyone! I really appreciate the feedback on what you like here, and I'm so grateful that you get so much out of the site. You'll probably see a little uneven posting as I try to find a new balance that works for me, but I definitely won't stop the Coffee posts completely :)

    12. I love that the morning posts have so much personality. I would miss them but I agree your sanity is much more valuable.

I struggle with this myself. I have been allowing myself complete computer breaks and while I don't want to disappoint my readers I need to stay sane and take care of my family first. I hope you are able to strike a new balance that works. Don't stress yourself too much.

    13. I LOVE your morning coffee posts. Your perspective and writing style are what keep me coming back every morning. If something has to go, I'd say that the store deals could go because a lot of people do them. But I may be biased against those because I live all the way across the country and our stores don't really overlap at all, outside of CVS.
