  • One Million Infantino Slings Recalled

Following the recent warning about using slings, the CPSC and Infantino have recalled one million SlingRider Baby Slings after three babies died in them last year. Consumers should stop using the recalled slings immediately and contact Infantino to receive a free replacement product, with a choice of a Wrap & Tie infant carrier, or a 2 in 1 Shopping Cart Cover, or a 3 in 1 Grow & Play Activity Gym. A Jittery Pals Rattle will also be provided. Contact Infantino toll-free at (866) 860-1361 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at

You can read the CPSC press release here – there’s also a photo of one additional sling style.

    1. That is so sad about the three babies. Their mothers must be devastated 🙁

I had one of these slings, and I was genuinely concerned about their safety. It didn't get much use.

I was consigning a few baby items recently and I thought against including it in the sale because it just didn't seem safe.

I threw it away not more than two weeks ago! I wish I held onto it — I could have maybe gotten another carrier or something else.

    2. Chief Family Officer says:

@Kacie – Good for you for trusting your mothering instincts and following your common sense. You might want to give them a call, or maybe you can dig up the receipt – you never know, they might send you the replacement anyway.
