  • Drugstore Game Padawan Update: Nicole is definitely ready to graduate!

If you’re just tuning in, I’m mentoring Nicole in The Drugstore Game. If you’ve always wanted to play but weren’t sure how to get started, follow along with Nicole as she becomes a Drugstore Game Master. You can read all of the posts in this series here, in reverse chronological order. Please read my Drugstore Game Primer and Common Sense with Money’s FAQ to get an overview of the Drugstore Game and definitions.

Nicole had to make a minor adjustment to the transactions I suggested for yesterday, because the Salpicin coupon had already reached its print limit. Here’s how she did:

    Transaction #1
    Salpicin Medicated Wipes $5.99
    Vitamin Schtick Lip Care $1.99

    – $5 RR + 1 RR from previous transaction

    Paid: $1.98 + tax
Received: $6 RR for Salpicin and $2 RR for Vitamin Schtick

    Transaction #2
    Blink Tears $7.99
    Scotch bubble mailer $.39

    – $1.50/1 Blink printable coupon
    – $6 RR

    Paid: 88 cents + tax
    Received: $8 RR for Blink

Tomorrow, she’ll do the third transaction I suggested to get cheap Zyrtec.

Then, she’ll do this deal she came up with on her own:

    Blink eye drops $7.99
    Vitamin Schtick $1.99
    Filler item of approximately $1.52

    – $1.50/1 Blink printable coupon
    – $10 RR from Zyrtec deal in last transaction

    Pay: tax
Receive: $8 RR for Blink and $2 RR for Vitamin Schtick

Now that’s the way to roll!
