If you’re just tuning in, I’m mentoring Nicole in The Drugstore Game. If you’ve always wanted to play but weren’t sure how to get started, follow along with Nicole as she becomes a Drugstore Game Master. You can read all of the posts in this series here, in reverse chronological order. Please read my Drugstore Game Primer and Common Sense with Money’s FAQ to get an overview of the Drugstore Game and definitions.
When we last checked in with Nicole, she was planning to visit a new CVS. She did, and found more Soyjoy flavors. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any Oust. So, she simply used a $6 ECB to buy another box of Soyjoy, and received another $6 ECB. That’s one way CVS is so much easier than Walgreens – you can “roll” an ECB into the same deal, whereas at Walgreens, you have to be careful not to roll a Register Rewards into a deal by the same company or you won’t get a new RR.
Nicole’s out of town for the weekend, so we’re looking ahead to next week. She didn’t see anything in the Walgreens ad that looked good to her, so we’re planning to focus on CVS. We’ll try to get some free or cheap Dove deodorant, Almay, Revlon (Nicole sure likes makeup!), Fiber One bars, and more Soyjoy. Hopefully, her stores will get more Oust in, since that gives us $2.01 in overage to work with.
