The folks at Cascade sent me a package of Cascade ActionPacs to try (in exchange for my honest opinion), and they’re quite effective. They got my dishes perfectly clean, although I did notice a few water spots when they dried. I also found that if I used the abbreviated “short wash” cycle, sometimes there was a white residue left on the dishes that I presumed was soap; however, there was never any residue left when I used the full cycle. Plus, they’re incredibly easy to use, since you just pop one into the detergent compartment and then turn on the dishwasher. The package that I received was the “Cinnamon Apple” scent, which wouldn’t have been my first choice (I would have preferred the “Citrus”), but there’s no residual scent once the dishes are clean, so it’s all good. The final verdict: Cascade ActionPacs are on my list of acceptable dishwasher detergents that I’ll buy when I see them at a stock-up price.
