Morning Coffee: Time for some fall housekeeping

The time change today makes it a good time to do things around the house that need to be done regularly: change the batteries on your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and flip your mattress.

If have time to go shopping during the next week, it's a great time to pick up Halloween clearance items. Last year at Target, I bought bags of the small Playdoh containers, and have used them in party favors as well as to give out this year (which parents really appreciated as an alternative to all of that candy). This year, I'm hoping to scoop up some costumes that the boys can use for dramatic play, which they now love.

I picked up some Halloween decorations for our stash at Walgreens--75% off. Our decorations were getting a bit shabby and these will look great next year.
