Homemade Yogurt & How to Have A Princess Party From Scratch And On A Budget @ Growing Up Gabel – I remember reading the yogurt-in-the-crockpot post when Stephanie published it, but I was too wary to try it (based upon my mediocre experiences with my old yogurt maker). But after reading Camille’s post, I’m going to give it a try.
Slow Cooking During a Recession @ A Year of Crockpotting – Speaking of Stephanie, she has some tips on saving money on food.
An Update on the Youth Cash Card Experiment @ All Financial Matters – I’m always looking for ideas on how to teach the boys to manage money, so this update was a welcome one.
Back to School Shopping for Less @ Common Sense with Money – Mercedes has some tips on saving money on school supplies and clothing. I missed most of last year’s sales, but I’ve made an effort to get the free and really cheap items this year to start my stockpile for next school year so that I can just reach in to fulfill teacher requests for supplies. (Yes, storage is a small issue. I’m working on it.)
WFMW: Price Matching @ Moneywise Moms – I saw the language in our local Target ad about price matching, but Gina explained how it actually works. The customer service at the Targets I go to isn’t that great (no comparison to the service I’ve gotten at CVS and Walgreens, for instance), but I’m sure I’ll eventually take advantage of this new policy.
Fabuless Coupon Tip Tuesday: Decoding The Store Ad & Fabulous Coupon Binder at Costco @ Fabulessly Frugal – If you haven’t been able to make heads or tails of the abbreviations used in posts about store deals, read the first post. I don’t use a binder for my coupons, but I might give it a try with this binder, if I can bring myself to go to Costco before the coupon expires on August 2.
Crumbs @ Less is Enough – I’m not especially diligent about saving leftover bread to make breadcrumbs, but I’m intrigued by the muffin and cookie recipes.
20 Scam-Free Ways to Make Money Online Fast @ Erica.biz – I sometimes get asked about how to make money online. I’m now going to direct people to this article.
Simple Sourdough Starter @ Ruhlman.com – I’m not baking bread until the temps fall, but when I do, I’m going to give this a try. If nothing else, it sounds like a fun science experiment.
