Walgreens 2-day coupon: $10 off $40 purchase Friday & Saturday only

Walgreens has come out with another $10 off $40 purchase printable coupon. It's good tomorrow and Saturday only, and contains the now-standard language requiring the pre-tax total to be $40 after coupons. It also excludes stamps, which might be new.

I wasn't expecting one of these coupons until closer to the end of the month, so I had to scramble to figure out whether I want to use it and if so, how. The transaction I was planning to do works out to less than $20, unless I can find a Magic Bullet blender on clearance - although I'm not expecting to find one. I am, however, hoping to find the elusive free-after-rebate water pitcher filter.

Here is the transaction I am hoping to do:

7 Chex Mix @ 99 cents each - $6.93
3 Robitussin @ $3.99 each - $11.97
4 Granola bars @ $2 each - $8
1 Crest ProHealth mouthwash - $4.49
1 Lypsyl - $1.99
1 L'Oreal Revitalift Anti-wrinkle Concentrate - $16.49
1 Crest ProHealth toothpaste - $3.79
1 store brand water pitcher filter - $6.99
1 Pert Plus 2 in 1 (13.5 oz) - $4.29

Total before coupons: $64.94

Coupons: 7 50-cents off Chex Mix, 3 $3 off Robitussin, 4 50-cents off granola bars, 75-cents off mouthwash, $1 off Revitalift, 75-cents off toothpaste, $2 off Pert (I had trouble using this last month, I am hoping it won't beep this month), $5 Register Rewards from last month's cereal/snack deal

Total after coupons: $30.94 + tax

The best part is, I'll get back more than I spent. At the register, I should get a $10 RR and a $4.50 RR from the Robitussin and mouthwash deals, respectively.

And I'll get the following items free after monthly rebate: Revitalift, toothpaste, water filter, and Pert Plus. That adds up to $31.56, or $34.72 with the 10% gift card bonus. Note that the Pert Plus rebate is new - it's not in the printed Easy Saver book, but it will show up as #43 online. Thanks to joshmamabear at A Full Cup for reporting that the size to get is 13.5 oz. (There are two additional rebates online for the vacuum bags that were also free last month.)

Of course, I'm not sure that everything will be in stock by the time I get to the store, especially that darn water pitcher filter. If I can't find that, I'll have to substitute some other free-after-rebate items, like the Excedrin and Revlon nail polish.

Great find. Not sure how my wife coulda missed this deal at Walgreens. It's like our emergency grocery store and being a block away from home, she makes a stop there almost every other day. They do have great deals once and a while.
