In case you're not already checking the various circulars for back to school sales, I wanted to let you know that you should! Even if you don't have school-age children, there are tremendous savings to be had from loss-leaders.
A couple of weeks ago, Staples sold .5-ounce bottles of Purell hand sanitizer for five cents each.
This week, I'll be heading to Walgreens, where Crayola washable markers are $2 and a 2-pack of Pilot gel ink pens are $1. They'll both be free after monthly EasySaver Rebates. (Thanks to Hooray for Free-bates for that info.)
If you're looking for something specific, Hot Coupon World has an amazing list of when certain items will be on sale. Some of the dates have already passed, but there are many that are still current.
Mercedes at Common Sense with Money put together some good guidelines for back to school savings. If you have school-age children, check out her post before you start shopping.
