Lesson: Always track Amazon's prices

Amazon has a 30-day price drop policy, meaning they'll issue a credit if they lower the price of an item within 30 days after you bought it. Since last year's holiday season, I have regularly used the Firefox extension PriceDrop to track prices at Amazon, and saved myself a few dollars now and then. To learn how to request a refund, read Nickel's instructions.

I bring this up because on Friday, I told you that Amazon was charging a mere $29.99 for the Black and Decker CHV9600 9.6-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster. I ordered one for myself. This morning when I turned on my computer, PriceDrop told me that the price on the DustBuster had dropped to $24.99. I followed Nickel's instructions, but since my order hadn't shipped yet, I asked that the price be adjusted to $24.99. In less than half an hour, I received a response stating the price had been adjusted. So, if you ordered a DustBuster 9.6 in the last 30 days, you might want to do the same. A $5 credit for two minutes of work is like getting paid $150 per hour, after deductions!

Is this only compatible with Firefox? I use Internet Explorer and can't get the downloaded program to run.

@K - Yes, that's exactly right. It's a Firefox plug in so it only works with Firefox (which is my preferred browser). But if you prefer Explorer, you can always try Price Protectr.

I agree, Price Protectr is my site of choice to track these changes in prices for me.
