  • Chief Family Officer’s Third Anniversary Celebration: Giveaway #2 – Heels.com $50 gift certificate

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to win a Heels.com gift certificate from Shoe Blitz. I have since fallen in love with Heels.com and enjoy simply scrolling through the hundreds (thousands?) of shoes on their site and daydreaming about them.

So I thought, why not spread the love? That’s why one lucky CFO reader will win a $50 gift certificate to Heels.com. (Gentlemen, feel free to enter on behalf of your lovely significant other.)

To enter, simply leave a comment with an idea for CFO. For example, you can recommend a change you think would make the site better or suggest an idea for a future post.

For an extra chance to win, subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment telling me you have done so (or that you’re already subscribed).

The giveaway ends at 6:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, June 10. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment.

The winner will be announced here on CFO. If I can easily locate the winner’s email address, I will also email the winner. The winner will have 48 hours to claim their Heels.com gift certificate; otherwise a new winner will be randomly selected.

One entry per type per person. This giveaway is open to everyone.

    Good luck!

I pretty much like your site the way it is. I guess maybe include a few more pictures of you and your family. I love seeing the people that I read about:)

I couldn’t resist a shoe possibility! Although I love reading your blog and follow it closely via my google reader, I woudl love if you had a place to click for recipes sort of like the best of link. I often go back to look for those.

    3. I’m new to your blog, and I can’t think of anything that needs changing! Maybe bigger graphics or more colors? I am not even sure these are necessary!

    4. Cathy,

I love your blog! It’s like having a good friend who knows all of the inside tips. Or…at times, it’s like having a knowledgeable lawyer on retainer! Congrats on your 3 years! Hope you have many more.

      Esther

    5. Shannon says:

I really enjoy reading your blog. If I could change anything, it would be your label cloud. Sometimes I want to go back and find a post that I know you wrote and I have trouble finding them.

That being said, I love your blog. Keep it coming- especially the financial content!

    6. Carolyn says:

Love your blog! Maybe more contests? I love the chance to get something for nothing!

    7. I, like everyone else who reads here, love the tips and the focus on saving money. Maybe for a few posts you could talk about reusing/re-appropriating items around the house.

    8. I also subscribe by RSS feed (go Google Reader!!!)

    9. Hi, I am a relatively new reader (came here from GRS).
I like your site a lot and if I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to brighten up the site by changing the color palette and adding more pictures. Also, more home budgeting posts please :-)

      georgeny @ operamail.com

    10. I think you’re blog is perfect as is. Any ideas I may have just involve more finances posts. Maybe more home budgeting. I’m always looking for a way to save money. lol. Anyhoo… thanks so much for the opportunity to win.

I love your blog, but maybe you could do a little re-design to make it stand out a bit more? Maybe make your header logo a little bigger, and like someone else said, use some brighter colors. But really, your blog is great. The content is so helpful, and that’s what really matters.

      Thanks!

It is tricky to find topics since you don’t have a search function.

I just found your site, so I don’t have any recommendations yet. I am looking forward to food posts, maybe some quick and easy meals that the whole family enjoys!!

    21. i love shoes and i LOVE your site! more pictures would be great.

    22. Some shoes would be wonderful! I haven’t bought myself any new ones in a long time.

Maybe make your header a bit bigger.

I really enjoy all the drugstore game posts. I find it really baffling and trying to learn how it all works.

    23. Mercedes says:

      I need shoes!!

I would like to hear more about how you juggle a demanding job, life at home and blogging. When do you sleep woman?

    24. The only thing I can think of as an improvement may have already been mentioned, but I do love pictures about a post. Of your family, or random ones from the web that relate to the post. Eye candy, if you will!

    25. windycindy says:

Hello! I would like more help with personal financing. Like, how to manage my credit card spending and stay within a budget. Thanks for the wonderful contest. Cindi

    28. mannequin says:

Just subscribed to receive emails from CFO! Thanks twice.

    29. Monika B. says:

I recently subscribed to your site because I love the content, and I think your title (CFO) is right-on! I challenged my husband to do in ONE day all the things I normally do (grocery shop, pay bills, care for our three kids), and he asked me when I take my break. HA! Love the stuff you write. Keep it coming.

    30. nor_lou says:

      can’t think of any improvements

    31. Garnishments says:

      I’m a guy…so how about posting some guy/husband related stuff…otherwise, great blog!

    32. Garnishments says:

already rss your blog via yahoo(which sucks by the way, but since I have been using it for so long, it’s more of a habit), and Google Reader (which is soooooo cool!!)

    33. Great contest! I’d suggest somehow making your sidebars stand out…color, perhaps! :)

      dbstout[at]juno[dot]com

    34. Love love the name of your blog..very easy to navigate site..leave it…if it aint broke dont fix it
      3beez at bellsouth dot net

    35. I’m new to your blog, so it’s hard to really say what needs to be changed. I really like what I’ve read so far since I subscribed to your feed. I also like the personal finance articles you include — so my suggestion is to write more of those.

    36. I am new to your blog. I did read your “post” on workoutmommy.com (cool)! I would say maybe add some color???

    37. Love the site, just a little colorless. It needs some COLOR, bright summer colors!

      Eileen-Lilly(at)hotmail(dot)com

    38. The Mama Hood says:

      I subscribed, great site!

    39. The Mama Hood says:

I just found your site so I think it was a bit plain, as far as design and color scheme. I think you have wonderful content and that’s what makes it such a wonderful site! I am glad I found it!

    40. I think the only thing that would make your blog better is more pictures…

    41. The only thing that would make the blog better is maybe a bigger/fancier heading picture?
      mitanari@yahoo.com

    42. To go along with your Drugstore Game (which I love and can’t wait to start when I get back to the states), it would be really cool to have a sticky, self-updating post on all of the deals at the individual chains. http://www.fatwallet.com does this for many stores. But it would give your readers an edge when they play the game themselves.

    43. Carly & Garrett says:

I really enjoy your site. You keep parenst entertained and informed. I would love to read about more ways to save money. Sharing tried and true recipes would also be nice.

    44. I think your site looks great. It loads fast-some are so bogged down with images- and your tips are great. Really, don’t worry, we all LOVE your site!

    45. Maybe some guest posters?

    46. I know this is extremely minimal, and I probably only feel this way because I just woke up and I can’t see worth anyway..lol..but I think if you underlined(or made larger) your post titles it would make the page easier to navigate. Sometimes they kind of blend in with other highlighted text. I was REALLY reaching here for something to say though! I love your blog :)

    47. Can’t resist a shoe prize! Perhaps you should show off your own favorite shoes? That might be a fun future post.

    48. I think your site is great. You should make your header bigger and maybe more pics? I like to see the faces behind the words.

    49. I’m subscribed via RSS!

    50. Mrs. Csirke says:

As a fellow attorney trying to reach that life/work balance, I appreciate your blog. I’m working on those law school loans too– so your tips help!
